Why choose Beauté éthique products
Make better beauty choices
The beauty world is always changing; new ingredients, new brands, new trends. As a fan of beau-ty products, you may be tempted to consume more and more products, leading to over-consumption. How can you find the right balance between taking care of yourself and taking care of our planet? Here are some options and reasons to turn to ethical cosmetics that will safeguard future generations.
Protect our furry friends
Even if there has been progress in recent years in terms of "cruelty-free" products, there is still a long way to go. Several countries have decided to ban cosmetic testing on animals—but this is not yet the case everywhere. That's why it's up to everyone to get involved and choose products and brands that do not test on animals. There are several logos that can make your shopping easier.
Less waste, please
The biggest change we've seen in recent years is definitely the "zero waste" movement in cosmetics. More and more, brands are giving consumers the opportunity to buy refills of their favourite products and then pair them with a one-time—purchase-only container. This means less waste. The components of many packages are also recyclable and even biodegradable. Many companies also offer the possibility to buy cosmetics in bulk with containers that you already have at home.
Avoid overconsumption
The moments you take for yourself are positive for your well-being, that's for sure. However, when you buy several of the same products, you may not finish them before their expiry dates. Once a product is opened, the product will start to lose its effectiveness if you exceed its shelf life. Just like food, cosmetics have an approximate expirty date. On beauty products, like a jar of cream, you can see a logo that has a number followed by the letter "M." A mascara or a foundation with "12M" means that the product is safe and of quality for the next 12 months after opening. Therefore, to avoid waste, it is better to use a product completely be-fore buying another one.
Prioritize local purchasing
It may seem difficult to find local alternatives to your favourite beauty products. However, it is doable, and after some research, you will find healthier options for you and the environment that will make a difference in the long run.
Ethical beauty is accessible
Ethical beauty encompasses many factors and changes that may seem complicated to adopt. But think of them as opportunities to protect our planet. If we all change our routines, one gesture at a time (big or small!), that means a lot for future generations!
