How Familiprix is helping you

Pharmacist availability

For over 40 years, pharmacist owners affiliated with Familiprix have always taken to heart your health concerns—each and every day. That is why that have implemented all types of measures to maintain their practices in order to address your health needs.

Rapid self-tests distributed in pharmacies

How to get them

To get your free box of 5 COVID-19 rapid self-tests, check if the pharmacy that manages your file displays availability on our online appointment scheduling tool.

If you do not see a time slot available, your pharmacy may be distributing tests without using the online appointment scheduling tool.

If this is the case, validate directly with the pharmacy to find out how it is planning to proceed. The team will have the most up-to-date information regarding the level of stocks available, and the most appropriate time to come and get them. Get the contact details of my pharmacy.

To get your free box of rapid self-tests, you will need your Health Insurance card. Only one box will be given per person per 30-day period.

If you have symptoms, do not go to the pharmacy to pick up rapid tests. If you already have a rapid test, use one according to government guidelines. It is recommended that you verify your result with a second test 24 hours later. Some people may be eligible for a PCR test at a screening center. If you don’t have any rapid tests or if you get a positive test result, please self-isolate for 5 full days if you are fully vaccinated or 10 days if you are not fully vaccinated. Use our delivery service if you need pharmacy products.

Details about the limited distribution

Given the limited quantity of boxes available, a pharmacist can prioritize distribution to people who already have a pharmacy record. This practice stems from the duties they owe to their patients according to their code of ethics. Find out more (French only).

Supply chain management

Supply chain management

A team has been dedicated to monitoring many products to ensure that we can restock our shelves as quickly as possible and minimize items being sold out.

Stockpiling on medication in advance can trigger drug shortages for many patients. Everyone must work together to ensure that people who are the most vulnerable have access to essential medications. Your pharmacist is responsible for the procurement of medications and knows the quantities required to meet patients' needs.

Please call in advance to have your prescriptions prepared or use our prescription renewal service on our mobile app or website.

    • If you have recently travelled outside of Canada and have been back for less than 14 days, you must mention this as soon you arrive at the clinic.
  • You should only go to the emergency room (ER) if you have difficulty breathing at rest or when you are lying down. If your condition allows you to do so, call 1 877 644-4545 before going to the ER.

Here are the preventative measures you should take to mitigate the risk of catching and spreading the virus.

  • Regularly wash your hands with running lukewarm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based disinfectant if you do not have access to water and soap.
  • Ensure proper hygiene when you cough or sneeze:
    • Cover your mouth and nose with the bend of your arm in order to reduce the propagation of germs.
    • If you use a tissue paper, dispose of it as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards.
    • If you are sick, avoid contact with more vulnerable people, including older adults and people who have a chronic disease. For example, avoid visiting people in hospital, people living in residential and long-term care centres, or in private residences.
    • Avoid direct contact when you greet someone, such as shaking hands, and use alternative ways to greet people.

Every individual has their part to play to reduce the risk of spreading viruses.
