Here are some preventive measures to adopt for COVID-19
- Reconsider unnecessary activities and travel;
- Limit your outings in public and avoid crowds;
- Wash your hands frequently: water and soap remain the best way to kill viruses and bacteria;
- Don't forget to clean objects that are handled frequently, such as cell phones, computer keyboards, door handles, remote controls, etc.;
- Avoid touching your face;
- Cough into your elbow and throw your tissues into the garbage.
Masks are recommended for sick people only to prevent the projection of droplets. A healthy individual wearing a mask ends up touching their face more often, thus increasing their risk of contamination.
Symptoms to watch for
- Fever, cough and difficulty breathing. The majority of symptoms are mild to moderate and will not require hospitalization.
If you have any symptoms and have returned from a trip and/or have possibly been in contact with someone who is infected or is returning from a trip: stay at home for 14 days while monitoring the progress of your symptoms, and limit all contact with your loved ones.
If in doubt, call the COVID hotline (1-877-644-4545).
