Details about the 2024 Maison Enfant Soleil signée Bonneville “Grand Prize”

The “Grand Prize,” valued at $650,000, taxes included, includes: the house, the furniture, all appliances, the decor, outdoor kitchen and a $100,000 allowance for the property. The house has an 8-foot basement under its entire living area. The garden level is not included and is shown as a design inspiration, should the choice of land allow its construction. Plans for the house “Matéo” are available on the Bonneville Homes website (www.maisonsbonneville.com).

If the winner chooses the house, they will receive the $100,000 cheque for the property within three weeks of confirming their final decision.

If the house is to be installed and finished more than 250 km from the City of Belœil, the winner must pay $275/kilometre to cover the additional costs for its delivery and installation by Bonneville Homes. The winner may be charged an additional amount if the chosen property is in an area underserved by Enfant Soleil’s construction partners.

Winner’s obligations

Before starting any work on the property, the winner must have the layout plans, certificate of location and building permit, obtained at their own expense. The property will need to be ready for construction and be served by municipal services. Notary fees, municipal and school taxes and the welcome tax are at the winner’s expense.

Since the work will be carried out on the winner’s property, the winner must obtain builder’s risk insurance as well as civil liability insurance, which must be valid before, during and after the house is installed on the foundations.

Delivery and installation of the house

Planning of the excavation and foundation work can begin as soon as the selected site is confirmed with Enfant Soleil. Excavation and foundation work cannot be carried out between November 1st and April 1st due to the frost period. The weather can cause unintended delays for some services.

Bonneville Homes must be given a minimum lead time of six (6) months for delivery and installation of the modules, as well as for carpentry connections. Finishing work (floor connections, ceramics, joints, painting) as well as plumbing and electrical connections will be carried out thereafter, under Enfant Soleil's responsibility, as seen and accepted during the site visit to Bonneville Homes.

Property

The Maison Enfant Soleil model must respect the municipal by-laws in effect at the property’s location. If any changes need to be made to the house to comply with the by-laws, these will be at the winner’s expense.

The selected property must meet the standards established by Bonneville Homes to ensure the safe delivery and installation of the house.

The property must be served by municipal and public utilities (electricity, water supply, etc.). The property must be easily accessible by trucks transporting the modules, via a public road suitable for motor vehicles approved by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité Durable. Steep and winding access roads can incur additional costs that will be at the winner’s expense.

The following, if applicable, will be at the winner’s expense: well, septic tank and leach field, grading, filling grade, backfill other than the excavated material, blasting, exceptional excavation and landscaping; any expenses incurred due to the soil composition (tools, work or special expertise); drainage other than the perimeter of the foundation, such as drainage between the ditch and the foundation; any transportation (to remove surplus earth, snow, etc.) and loading of material on another site; any additional support structure required for unstable terrain; any other element resulting from an event Bonneville Homes deems outside of its control.

Basement

The basement work includes: the excavation, the formwork, the foundation, insulating the concrete slab, installing two standard windows and temporary stairs with a handrail. The perimeter of the basement includes minimal electricity and lighting, walls, insulation and drywall.

The following are not included: any divisions, any finishes, other electricity (including a higher-voltage electrical panel), plumbing, heating, exterior cladding.

Warranties

The Maison Enfant Soleil signée Bonneville house is covered by the Bonneville Homes warranty for demo models. Enfant Soleil undertakes to leave the house in the same condition it was in during the visit to check the state of the premises, conducted at the Bonneville Homes site.

The following will not be replaced or repaired: the furniture, built-in furniture, lighting, decorative items, finishing elements or any other element as seen during the visit.
